The Yoga + Wine retreat began in Italy in the mid afternoon of May 12th. We were blessed to arrive on a beautiful sunny day. The Tuscan country side is breathtaking and the ride from the airport to Gabriella’s Borgo was enough! Now that I have finally arrived at the retreat location I am ecstatic and enjoying every single moment.
After being fitted for bikes we headed into a yoga class before the evening festivities. The yoga class was short but a perfect antidote to a long day of travels. The warm flow and deep breathing brought everyone more into the present and away from the trials and tribulations of day to day life back in NY & NJ.
With a little bit of a yoga high we all went to the restaurant to have a tour of Gabriella’s Borgo, a prosecco toast and finally dinner. Dinner was amazing, with two main courses. With the prosecco toast, we enjoyed some tasty antipasti, followed by a traditional tomato sauce and rigatoni. Then, we had baked fennel and cheese (this was amazing) , and finally apple strudel for dessert. What a tasty way to enjoy the first evening!
After a long day of traveling, yoga, and good conversation we all went to lay our heads to rest for the night, exhausted yet excited for what was to come next!
