With spring on its way I’ve started a 21 day dairy, gluten, and alcohol free cleanse. The official start date when I took out dairy, gluten and alcohol from my diet was Monday March 11th, but I started early with the dairy. At first when I was thinking about going dairy free I wondered how I’d do it, but surprisingly I’ve found I’ve been able to do it for the past week and half with ease.

Today I made a tasty green juice with my Vitamix. I’m new to making my own juices/smoothies, because in the past i would purchase them at Organic Avenue. Homemade fresh juices are a wonderful addition to a healthy diet, and making it easier for me to stick with this cleanse.

Gluten and dairy can cause acidity and inflammation in the body, and even though it has only been a few days since I started this cleanse I am already feeling more energized and lighter.

Green & Juicy
1 Gala Apple
1 banana
2 handfuls of spinach
chunks of ginger
dash of cayenne pepper
optional to add ice cubes

Making a Mountain out of a Molehill

At times I am really good at making a mountain out of a molehill. I can take something really minor into a major issue, when it is really not necessary. Most recently I did this pertaining to my bookkeeping. It has been a task on my list for months now and has been building in my mind as a major multi-day affair.

Of course in the end when I sat down to do it, there wasn’t as much as I thought. The mental anguish I put myself through to just do it took much longer than the actual act of bookkeeping. It had been looming over my head, and the more I put it off the bigger it became in my mind. Now that I have finished it I feel much lighter and easier – the dark cloud looming over me has been lifted.
